*1903 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE. Cal 30-06. SN 455321. 24” bbl dated “11 – 10”. Stock has been sectionalized in two areas; first one being behind the middle band where there is a 3/4” by 3/4” “U” shaped cutout and the second being a 1-1/2” by 1”, somewhat “V” shaped cutout below the rear sight. CONDITION: Metal overall is in plumb condition with medium to heavy mottling on the receiver. Bbl is 98% plum and front sight pin is missing. Bands are both plum in color as well as rear sight and base assembly with some very fine pitting on the base. Trigger guard and floorplate assembly are both plumb and spotty. As well as the sectionalizing the stock has a couple of significant dents on the left side; one being at the receiver ring and the other at the cartouche. There is also a 1/4” by 3/8” dent just in front of the buttplate as well as minor scuffing and handling marks throughout. Upper hand guard appears to be a later replacement. Bore is dark with fairly strong rifling and may clean some. 4-57793 BK24 (800-1,300)
