*ANSLEY H. FOX MODEL XE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. Beautiful high-grade Fox with 26” bbl, choked MOD/IMP-CYL. It has a raised matted rib with double ivory beads with Krupp fluid steel bbls. It has very nicely grained American walnut wood with beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock 14-1/2” over a Pachmayr solid pad. It appears to be fine replacement wood. It has ejectors and single selective trigger. The receiver is beautifully engraved in leaf and vine patterns with vignettes of two ducks on the left side, two quail on the right side and a large relief engraved fox on the bottom. It has the maker’s name on both sides. The engraving extends about 2” over the chambers and on bbl extension. SN 200685. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about all of a fine re-blacked finish. The receiver retains. Original case colors in the sheltered areas, being mostly a dark silvered patina. The wood is sound and retains about all of its custom finish.
