GEORGE M. HATHAWAY (AMERICAN, 1852-1903) “BREAKWATER LIGHT, PORTLAND HARBOR”. Oil on academy board shows a small lighthouse at the end of the breakwater, a three masted tall ship is seen with half sails along with a one-masted sloop. Another point of land has houses and sailboat. Signed lower left “G. M. HATHAWAY”. On the back of board is the artist’s business card. Titled on back of board. Housed in a modern gilt wood frame.
