*ONE OF A KIND PIGEON GRADE ENGRAVED CASED WINCHESTER MODEL 50 SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Wonderful one of a kind shotgun, factory made up sample with 30″ vent rib full choke bbl. The receiver is beautifully engraved in No. 5 style by Nick Kusmit with bird dogs and flushing partridge of the left side and four flying ducks on the right side surrounded by arabesque patterns which extend 1-1/2″ up the bbl. The engraving on the right side of the receiver is signed “NK”. The wood is highly figured, special select American Claro with No. 5 checkering and carving, Monte Carlo stock 14-3/8″ over a red leather faced pad with gold oval initial plate. Bottom of the receiver is also engraved and marked “PIGEON”. It is accompanied by a large manila tag that lists this shotgun as a Super Pigeon and indicates that it has a special 82% bbl and that it is not to retail for less than $797.95 or more than $802.95. It is also accompanied by a letter from B.W. Pardee, the Manager of the Custom Shop and Product Information Coordinator for Winchester Western, dated January 15th, 1974, identifying this shotgun and reporting that he had taken the information to Nick Kusmit, who had traced the work in his records and determined that it he completed it on June 29th, 1956 under Winchester order #6544. It is also accompanied by a custom Winchester brown leather covered green felt-lined, trunk case that reportedly came with this gun. The case also bears a small manila tag that bears pretty much the same information as reported above. SN 77588. CONDITION: As new, appears to be unfired retaining about all its original finish to both metal and wood. Case also appears to be new. 4-46821 JR291 (3,500-7,500)
