RARE AND SPECIAL DELUXE ENGRAVED BURGESS SLIDE ACTION SHOTGUN 2 BARREL SET. Cal. 12ga. Very rare and beautiful shotgun, possibly the finest extant, with two 30″ damascus bbls numbered to the receiver, one choked IMP/MOD and the other choked CYL. Receiver has fine Nimschke-style arabesque patterns with floral centers. The forearms are checkered in “H” diamond patterns and the sliding wood grip is also checkered. Buttstock is beautifully figured 13-1/2″ over an original “BURGESS/GUN CO.” hard rubber buttplate that features a bird dog holding a dead woodcock. Top of the bolt is matted and nicely engraved with the company name and address. The tops of the bbls are roll marked with a variety of patent dates. SN 2259. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Bbls retain about 90% damascus pattern, thin over the chamber areas. Magazine tubes retain about 90% thinning original blue. Receiver has 75-80% thin bright original blue, mostly silver on the top and bottom. Wood is sound with the forearms having several nicks and dings but retains about 90% strong original finish.
