U.S. COLT THIRD MODEL DRAGOON REVOLVER WITH RARE SHOULDER STOCK. CAL: 44. 7-1/2” part oct. bbl. Inspector initial “A” on rear of bbl and cylinder, “S” on back strap, “M” on trigger guard. The “WAT” cartouche on the right side of the grip is readable but the one on the left side is not. Note the early loading lever with a matching SN to this late gun. A 3-leaf rear sight has been cut into the bbl through the address. Shoulder stock is numbered “17109” and “17110” on the lower tang and buttplate. Locking lug and screw appear to be replaced. SN 17535, all matching including wedge. CONDITION: Metal surfaces appear to be chemically cleaned with some polishing on the round part of the bbl and scattered light to moderate pitting. Cylinder scene is fairly sharp but there are some heavy file marks at the rear near the Colt’s Patent marking. Grips have minor chips at the toe and normal dents and scratches elsewhere. Metal yoke of the shoulder stock has much heavier pitting than the buttplate, wood does not show any use, but has a nice patina. 4-45096 FS60 (8,000-12,000)
