EARLY EUROPEAN FLAT STYLE POWDER HORN. Possibly German or middle European, approx. 7″ on the long side x 3-1/2″ x 1-3/16″ with oval wood base plug secured with four small brass pins. The plug end is turned horn secured with four brass pins. One side is very nicely carved with a trophy of arms and a dead bear. The other side is decorated with a carved Edelweiss at one end and floral decoration at the other. CONDITION: Light greenish color with a couple of small bug bites, otherwise near excellent condition. 4-45474 JL314 (500-1,000)
