SHARPS CARBINE WITH BRASS TACKS. CAL. 54. 22” round bbl. This carbine has seen extreme abuse and is decorated like those used by Indians. There are 25 brass tacks in cross and straight line patterns on the butt and six on the rawhide covered remains of the forearm. There are also three holes with tracks missing. The bottom of the stock is broken off and has been roughly smoothed. The buttplate is also broken off at the top tang screw. The top tang is cracked at the front screw. The lever lock, primer screw, follower and spring, lever pin, spring and screw and rear sight leaf are missing. SN 43874. CONDITION: Deeply pitted on hammer, patchbox and triggerplate. Moderately pitted elsewhere. The wood and bore are poor. The action is functional. 4-45106 FS15 (800-1,200)
