LOT OF AMERICAN EPAULETS, HAT CORDS AND BUGLE. A mixed lot of Civil War and earlier goods as follows: 1) Pr of Civil War Enlisted Brass Shoulder Scales: Standard issue stamped brass shoulder scales for the artillery or cavalry jacket. This set retains its mounting hardware. CONDITION: Very good, one still retains its leather covered back, leather is missing from the other. Brass is cleaned bright. 2) Pr of pre-Civil War junior officer’s fringe epaulets. Gilt wire and cloth dress epaulets with narrow wire fringe, braided gilt cloth tops and stamped brass crescents. The undersides are covered in yellow fabric and both retain their orig. paper oval label reading “Hartley & Graham/19 Maiden Lane/New-York.” CONDITION: A little rough around the edges with some fraying and tarnish. Paper labels and undersides are nice. 3) Two Officer’s Slouch Hat Cords. One appears to be a good Civil War period example regulation style in black and gold. The second is probably a bit later but is made of extra rich heavy gold cording, with large acorn ends. CONDITION: Both are in fine condition with the gold cloth now dull. 4) Small Cavalry type bugle. Brass measuring only 10 1/4″ long, single loop, turned bell, and mouthpiece secured to the body by a chain. The bugle is unmarked and probably dates to the Spanish-American War period. CONDITION: Excellent, dark and uncleaned overall but very nice with only minor small denting. Initials marked on the outside and inside of bell. 4-45203, 45250, 45261, 45216 CW (700-1,000)
