EUROPEAN PERCUSSION MUSKETOON.

EUROPEAN PERCUSSION MUSKETOON. CAL. about 56. Tiny musketoon with 25″ round bbl, brass bead front sight with a flip carbine style rear sight with four arpetures. It is fitted with iron furniture having two bands, the rear band is secured with a spring. The upper band has a sling loop and another is attached to the trigger guard. The ramrod is a tulip head and the stock has a small cheek piece. The buttplate is smooth steel. There is a #163 stamped in the wood behind the upper tang, a matching number by the buttplate tang and a #100 on the buttplate tang. CONDITION: The bbl retains a mottled dark brown patina with several small nicks about the bands. The wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. A fine, light little musketoon. 4-44777 JL272 (500-800)
