*WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 125TH ANNIVERSARY SHORT RIFLE. Cal. 30-30. Beautiful, highly decorative commemorative rifle with 20″ oct. bbl, carbine sights with two gold bands at the muzzle and lettering inlaid with gold on the bbl. Receiver, foreend cap, lever and buttplate are finished bright and beautifully engraved with leaf and vine patterns marked in gold on a riband on the left side “125th ANNIVERSARY 1866-1991” with a vignette of the Winchester rider in great detail in raised gold. Right side of receiver has “WINCHESTER” in gold on a riband. Stock and forearm are of dark burled highly figured walnut with extremely fine checkering and fine oil finish. Accompanied by a large German made Bowie knife with 9-3/4″ blade, 15-1/4 overall, etched with various Winchester markings commemorating the 125th Anniversary and marked on right side with the Winchester rider and “1 of 125” and the serial number “117”. Accompanied by its original brown leather sheath in a black wooden presentation box. Also accompanied by a 4-page German language pamphlet advertising this commemorative. Rifle SN 4815000. CONDITION: Excellent. Appears to be unfired retaining virtually all its original factory finish to both metal and wood and on the knife also. No box. 4-46794 JR116 (800-1,500)
