PAINTED FAN, CHINA, ZHANG DAQIAN (1899-1983).

Ink and colors on paper, finely depicting two recluses conversing on a bridge in a verdant landscape, inscribed, signed “Daqian ju shi Zhang Yuan,” dated “the fifth month of bingxu year,” with two seals “Zhang Yuan” and “Daqian;” the reverse with calligraphic inscriptions in cursive script on gold paper, signed “Shuren Zhang Yuan,” with two seals PROVENANCE: Private collector in San Francisco; Brought from Taiwan in 1950’s by collector’s father CONDITION: Tears and fan sticks bottom loose needs to be strengthened, tapes to a small tear on the fan surface 9-92415 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 4043
