*WINCHESTER MODEL 50 EXPERIMENTAL OR PROTOTYPE FEATHERWEIGHT SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 14ga. Made in 1958, this shotgun is the prototype for experimenting with the Winlight bbl and 14ga. ammunition. As a result of the test for this shotgun, the Model 59 was developed. This shotgun has a 26″ plain IMP-CYL fiberglass bbl with bead front sight and is hand engraved over the chamber area “14GA. IMP.CYL.”. Receiver is marked on the bottom in front of the loading port with the serial number and “WRP” (Winchester Research Proof) indicating that it was made at the Alton plant. It was fitted with standard checkered Model 50 forearm and pistol grip stock. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the former Director of Marketing for Winchester. SN EXP26B. CONDITION: About excellent. Bbl and receiver retain most of their original finish with light handling and use marks, a scratch or two and a small cleaned spot on the right side of the receiver.
