*SUPERB BROWNING SUPERPOSED “D5” VERREES & CO (LEBEAU-COURALLY) DOUBLE RIFLE WITH EXTRA SHOTGUN BARRELS, SCOPE, AND CASE.

SN 177PM01156. Cal. 30-06 and 20 ga. 3″ Chambers. Browning/ FN Custom shop is often in partnership with Lebeau-Courally/ Verrees in producing unusual exhibition quality guns and rifles. This particular example built on a B 25 small sized action, is fitted with 24″ mono-bloc OU double rifle bbls. Bbls are fitted with hand matted quarter rib holding single folding leaf express rear sight and claw scope bases. Matching front ramp holds silver bead. Left side of top bbl is engraved “BROWNING ARMS CO MADE IN BELGIUM”; right side with “VERREES & CO” and with caliber. 26-1/2″ Shotgun bbls are marked for modified and full chokes, are fitted with narrow, hand matted, ventilated rib, and are engraved with same makers names. Browning B 25 Superposed action is coin finished, and has nicely filed beads. It is engraved in “D5” pattern with full coverage large swirling acanthus scroll with floral terminations and highlights. This fine engraving is signed “Janssen” beside trigger. Engraving continues onto trigger guard bow, as well as tang, which extends to steel grip cap, also engraved in matching pattern. Exhibition quality, beautifully marbled European walnut with striking fiddle/ flame figure, measures 14-1/2″ over skip line checkered wood butt. Side panels have nicely chip carved drop points and checkering at grip is of modified point pattern with line borders. Each bbl set has its own nicely matched 3-pc forend. Leupold Vari X III 1.5 – 5X scope with duplex reticle is in Recknagel type claw rings. Shotgun bbls 20 ga: Bore diameter: top -.617, bottom – .618. Bore restrictions: top – .018 (mod), bottom – .009 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-3/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 5 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 14-1/2″. 30-06 Rifle BBLS: Drop at heel: approx 2-7/16″, drop at comb: approx 1-5/8″. Weight without scope: 7 lbs. 4 oz. LOP: 14-1/2″. Tan vinyl Hartmann case lined in faux fur, contains a Naugahyde tag, and the key. PROVENANCE: Two test targets for rifle bbls dated 2007. Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, very near to new, with a few handling marks in all fine factory finishes on wood and metal, most notably some light scratches on both side panels of buttstock.
