CASED PAIR OF HIGH QUALITY SINGLE SHOT BREECHLOADING TARGET PISTOLS BY GEBR. KRAUS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION.

SN 181-1/ 181-2. Cal. 8 mm. (32 Extra long?) 10″ Brightly polished blue, fluted octagon bbls, are gold inlaid with makers name, and town (Coblenz), as well as some open scroll at breech ends with double bands and a single band around muzzles. Nicely filed, case hardened, top lever tip down actions are fitted with bar locks with rebated tails having reloading round bodied serpentine hammers. Actions are engraved with 60 – 70% coverage well cut scroll within geometric borders. Triggers are set. Case hardened trigger guards with finger spurs are gold inlaid with monogram “ER”. Stocks of nicely figured European walnut have fluted “grips” and steel grip caps are filed in to fit. Forends attaching with side nails have steel tips. Pistols are housed in their orig oak and leather case with plated brass corners and other hardware, which is lined in green cloth. Central compartment contains a cleaning rod and chamber cast. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all of their orig factory finishes on wood and metal, with only some sharp edge wear on bbls and slight silvering on high edges and beads of actions. Stocks have a few light marks. Bores are excellent. Actions are tight. Locks are crisp. Case leather is scuffed and marked and has some lifting of grain. Interior cloth has marks and compressions. Compartment covers have cloth which does not quite match. A lovely pair of pistols. 51436-1 MGM38 (5,000-6,000) – Lot 3526
