GLAZED POTTERY CENSER WITH WOOD COVER AND JADE FINIAL.

Ming Dynasty, China. The unusual censer made in squat form with shallow incised design around the body under a lightly applied blue glaze. Stands on three splayed feet and handles applied at the shoulders. Comes with fitted wood stand and cover having an applied carved jade finial a Bixie dating to the Qing Dynasty. SIZE: 9″ dia. Jade is 1-3/4″ l. PROVENANCE: Purportedly from the Estate of President James Buchanan. CONDITION: Very good. 50775-1 (1,500-2,000) – Lot 3508
