*SCARCE D. M. LEFEVER “8E” GRADE TRIGGER PLATE ACTION GAME GUN.

SN 1111. Cal. 12 ga. 30″ Bbls fitted with slightly raised, matted rib, are engraved “KRUPP” “FLUID STEEL” on tops. SN is stamped on bottom of right bbl. Rear portions of bbls are carved with typical Lefever high grade ogee decoration. Case hardened, trigger plate type, boxlock action features knurled roll safety, crossbolt top fastener, and nickel-plated dbl triggers. Action is engraved with 30% coverage well cut scroll and line borders surrounding finely detailed vignettes of dogs on sides; pointing pointer on left, and pointing setter on right. Bottom of action depicts a flying woodcock. “D. M. LEFEVER – SONS + Co” is at the bottom of each dog scene. Trigger plate is engraved “PATENTED 1902”, and “NOT” “CONNECTED” “WITH” “LEFEVER ARMS CO”. Trigger guard bow is engraved with circular scene of portrait of pointer, with ducks in background. SN is on tang which extends to checkered hard rubber grip cap. Lightly marbled and figured flesh-toned Circassian walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over checkered hard rubber buttplate. Side panels are checkered and have small lozenge shaped drop points. Checkering at grip is of point pattern, with fancy back border. A vacant gold oval is on toe line. Grade is not stamped on metal parts, nor under grip cap. Matching splinter ejector forend has schnabeled horn tip, and knurled roll release. Bore diameter: left -.738, right – .738. Bore restrictions: left – .035 (full), right – .032 (full). Wall thickness: left – .026, right – .031 . Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast: approx 3/8″ on. Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz. Bbls retain approx 80% of what appears to be orig blue. Action retains 60 – 70% orig case hardening color, silvered on fences and around bottom. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their orig finish with some added oil, and numerous light marks. Checkering is lightly worn. Horn tip shows a repair screw and putty repair surrounding right side. Bores are excellent, with some light frosting. Action is tight.
