1) SAVAGE 1917. SN 250124. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, dull blue/black finish, checkered hard rubber grips with oval panel at top showing raised design of an Indian holding a rifle and legend “SAVAGE QUALITY”. Top of slide shows 2-line Savage address and patent mark, top line is followed by “Cal. 32”, bottom line is followed by “7.65mm”. Left side of frame is marked Savage 1917 model. Frame has safe and fire marked at safety lever. SN is stamped on front of frame. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Pistol shows 98% of the dull blue/black finish overall with a few stains towards the muzzle and front sight. All markings are sharp. Trigger and mag latch show nearly all the case colored finish. Hammer and safety latch show nearly all of the dull blue/black finish. Mag retains most of the blue with some slight scratching and staining overall. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and clear logos. C&R 2) SAVAGE 1917. SN 231511. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, dull blue/black finish, SN is stamped on front of frame top of slide shows 2-line Savage address and patent mark, top line is followed by “Cal. 32.”, bottom line is followed by “7.65mm”. Frame has safe and fire marked near safety lever. 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips showing an oval panel at top with raised design of an Indian holding a rifle with “SAVAGE QUALITY” legend. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Pistol shows 98%+ dull blue/black finish overall, with only slight high point wear. All Markings are sharp and clear. Trigger and mag latch retain nearly all of the case color finish. Hammer and safety retain nearly all of the dull blue/black finish. Mag shows almost all of the blue with some slight scratch marks. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and logo. Left grip screw is slightly marred. C&R 3) SAVAGE 1907. SN 16637. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, blue finish, hard rubber grips with circular panel in center having raised Indian head design and legend “SAVAGE QUALITY”. Top of slide shows 2-line Savage address and patent mark of Nov. 21. 1905, followed by Cal. 32. SN is stamped on bottom of frame in front of trigger guard. Case colored trigger and mag latch. Fire blue hammer and safety lever. PROVENANCE: The Frank H Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Pistol retains 95% bright blue finish overall with some slight scratches on the forward part of the bbl. Trigger and mag latch both retain almost all the case color. Hammer and safety latch also retain a considerable amount of fire blue. Grips are fine with Sharp checkering and clear logos. A very fine condition Savage model 1907 mid-production pistol. C&R 4) SAVAGE 1907. SN 218910. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, dull blue/black finish, hard rubber grips with circular panel in center showing Indian head design and legend “SAVAGE QUALITY”. Top of slide shows 2-line Savage address and patent mark with Cal. 32 after the top line and 7.65m-m after the bottom line. Hammer is of the spur type. SN is stamped on the front face of the frame. Frame shows safe and fire near safety latch. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Pistol shows 98%+ of the dull blue/black finish with sharp markings. Trigger and mag latch show nearly all the case colored finish. Hammer and safety lever also show nearly all the dull blue finish. Grips are fine, with sharp checkering and clear logos. Mag retains a considerable amount of blue with scratch marks and slight erosion overall. C&R 5) SAVAGE 1907. SN 212893. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, dull blue/black finish, top of slide shows 2-line Savage address and patent mark, top line is followed by “Cal. 32”, bottom line is followed by “7.65mm”. Spur hammer, hard rubber grips with circular panel in center showing raised Indian head design with “SAVAGE QUALITY” legend. Frame is marked safe and fire near safety lever. SN is stamped on front of frame. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Pistol shows 90% dull blue/black finish overall with high point wear at the muzzle and front of frame. Grip straps show slight staining. Trigger and mag latch show considerable case color. Hammer and safety latch show nearly all the blue. Mag shows considerable blue with some scratching and stains over all. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and clear logo. C&R 6) SAVAGE 1907. SN 191105. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-3/4″ bbl, dull blue/black finish, hard rubber grips with circular panel in center showing raised Indian head design and “SAVAGE QUALITY” legend. Top of slide shows 2-line Savage address and patent mark, top line is followed by Cal. 32., bottom line is followed by 7.65mm. SN is stamped on front of frame. This pistol shows a transition between mid-production and late-production models because it still has the older styled grooved hammer. Frame has safe and fire marked near safety lever. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Pistol retains 98% of the dull blue/black finish overall with some slight high point wear. Trigger and mag latch show nearly all the case colored finish. Hammer and safety latch retain nearly all the blue/black finish. Mag has nearly all of the bright blue finish with some slight scratch marks. An early production late model 1907 with grooved hammer instead of spur hammer. C&R 7) REMINGTON MODEL 51. SN 61658. Cal. .32 ACP. 3-1/2″ bbl, blue finish, checkered hard rubber grips with Remington-U.M.C. trademark in a circle. Matted top flat of slide shows Remington-U.M.C. address and Pedersen patent mark. Left side of frame has SN stamped over trigger. Right side of frame has Remington trademark stamped over trigger. Breech of bbl is marked 32 Cal, as is the left bottom side of mag. Bottom of mag shows a “U” proof. Box has Remington labels on three sides showing model and cal. Box has Remington label inside lid, with instruction sheet for .380 cal pistol. Box also contains service sheet and post card for registration with SN of this pistol noted. Box also contains a small bottle of Rem oil with brochure sheet for same. Included is an open box of ammo containing 47 Remington-U.M.C. cartridges. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Slide retains 99% of the blue finish with only a couple slight scratches. Markings are clear. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Frame also retains 99% bright blue finish, with sharp markings. Small parts retain nearly all of the fire blue finish. Grips are fine, with crisp trademark logo and sharp checkering. Mag retains 95% blue with light scratch marks overall. Box is fine with no breaks and only slight edge wear and slight deterioration on the labels. Paperwork is clean and not oil stained. Cartridge box is also clean and unstained with clear labels. Cartridges are also very clean. An extremely fine example of a Remington Model 51 pistol in nearly new condition.
