*FINE SMALL BORE PIOTTI “BOSS” OVER-UNDER SIDELOCK GAME GUN WITH INTERESTING BULINO ENGRAVING (DOVES) BY PASOTTI, WITH CASE.

SN 9761. (2004) Cal. 20 ga. 3″ Chambers. 28″ Demi-bloc bbls fitted with solid matted rib, are engraved “Flli PIOTTI ITALY” on left side of top bbl. Bbl flat is stamped with 2004 Italian nitro proofs. Rear portion of rib, top lever, and front portion of forend are gold inlaid “2”. Beautifully filed and polished, coin finished, low profile OU action features non-automatic safety, line engraved tumbler end cocking indicators, and single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with an unusual treatment of feathers of various birds arranged as scroll, surrounding vignettes of doves; a recumbent dove on front left side, flying dove on right, and bottom of action depicts a trio of doves in various poses amongst branches. Rear sides of action and lockplates continue the theme with a pair of pointers in front of hunters approaching a dule of doves nestled in grass. Right side depicts a flight of doves settling into field of sunflowers. Makers name is at bottom of each sideplate scene. Single beaded small bow trigger guard has portrait of dove on bow, and SN on tang. Engravers signature and date “Pasotti 2004″ are on trigger plate. Well marbled and lightly figured European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8″ over thin black Decelerator pad, and features drop points and typical point pattern checkering. Matching one piece forend has Anson type release. Bore diameter: top -.619, bottom – .619. Bore restrictions: top – .008 (IC), bottom – .012 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-7/16″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast off approx 1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. LOP: 14-5/8”. Two gun Americase is lined in royal blue velvet. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, with evidence of exceptionally light field use, with only a few light handling and assembly marks on all orig factory finishes, and nothing to note. Mechanically crisp. Case is fine, slightly distorted. This gun has a present retail of over $70,000.00, without extra for special engraving.
