*TRULY EXCEPTIONAL 28 GAUGE LUCIANO BOSIS OVER-UNDER SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN WITH SUPERB BAROQUE SCROLL AND DRAGON ENGRAVING BY DASSA WITH CASE.

SN 035. Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26-7/8″ Beautifully struck demi-bloc bbls by Luterotti with flat, matted, solid rib, are engraved “Luciano Bosis – Brescia – Italia” on top left. Bbl flat is stamped with SN and 1991 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Small frame, low profile, OU sidelock action features non-automatic safety (S engraved), and single non-selective trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with truly exceptional, dramatic open scrolling acanthus in dark shaded background with terminations of scroll in the form of dragons heads, mouths agape, central dragon on lockplates breathing fire. Scroll emanates from the mouth of profile “north wind” figure at rear of plates. Bottom of action is engraved “LUCIANO BOSIS” on draped ribbon, and dragons flank trigger plate at rear. Master engravers responsible for this excellent work are the renowned Brothers Dassa, whose signature is on trigger plate. More scroll continues onto trigger guard. Exhibition quality, wonderfully stump figured and strikingly dark veined European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over fully checkered wood butt. Exceptionally well cut, closely spaced, borderless point pattern checkering is on diamond hand. Matching full one piece forend has Anson type release button in wraparound steel tip, and Bosis crest is inlet in gold on uncheckered central diamond. Bore diameter: top -.559, bottom – .559. Bore restrictions: top – .032 (full), bottom – .015 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Cast: approx 1/2″ off. Weight: 5 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-1/8″. Brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Amiet (on latch), is lined in scarlet velvet, and has colored paper Bosis label in lid. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, appears unfired since proof, with only a few minor handling and assembly marks on all factory finishes, most notably a dulling of finish from case rub (?) on left side of buttstock. Mechanically crisp. Case is excellent with some rubs and dings. Interior has some compressions and light soiling. Luciano Bosis guns are the ultimate in quality, and made on custom order only. They are priced without engraving, which is to be negotiated between the customer and artist. 50819-2 MGM175 (30,000-40,000) – Lot 3321
