TABLE LAMP WITH EARLY HANDEL SHADE.

Table lamp has early Handel shade with frosted glass body and reverse painted flowers encircling the body of the shade. Flowers are done in subtle white and red colors. Shade is further decorated with reverse painted leaves descending from the top rim. Flowers and leaves are outlined on the obverse in raised green enamel with matching vines connecting the leaves and flowers. Shade is signed on the fitter “Handel Co. 2581″ The shade rests on a base with brass octagon foot supporting a simple tapered stem with brown patina. Base is completed with a 2 socket cluster and 3 arm spider supporting shade ring. Base is unsigned. SIZE: Shade: 12-1/2″ dia with 9-3/4″ fitter. 19” t to top of shade. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent with some very minor flakes to the fitter rim. Base is very good with one replaced socket, wired with older plastic cord. 5-69608 (700-1,000) – Lot 3315
