*NEARLY NEW 20 GAUGE HOLLAND & HOLLAND ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER SELF-OPENING GAME GUN WITH 30 INCH BARRELS AND CASE.

SN 40472. Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 30″ Chopper lump bbls are fitted with swamped, concave game rib engraved “The Royal”. Tops of bbls are engraved “Holland & Holland 13, Bruton Street, London.” Bbl flats are stamped with 1979 London nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with SNs. Bbls are fitted with Holland patent self-opening assist spring. Small sized, case hardened, sidelock action features automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), gold band tumbler end cocking indicators, H&H type hand detachable lock pin, and Holland sgl non-selective trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved in classic “Royal” house style, with near full coverage well cut varying sized scroll, with scroll and geometric borders. “Holland & Holland” is engraved in classic device on each lockplate. Bottom of action is engraved “The Royal Model”. Single beaded small bow blued and scroll engraved trigger guard has SN inlaid in gold on tang. Finely mottled and nicely figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14″ over checkered wood butt, and features standard Holland appointments of drop points, point pattern checkering on diamond hand, and a vacant gold oval on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.610, right – .611. Bore restrictions: left – .035 (full), right – .021 (mod). Wall thickness: left – .029, right – .030. Drop at heel: 2-5/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Cast off approx 1/4″. Weight: 5 lbs. 11 oz. LOP: 14″. Makers dark leather case with stitched leather corners is embossed “S. S. S.” on top. Case is lined in green cloth, and has black leather gold embossed H&H label in lid. Case contains a pair of H&H marked snap caps and oil bottle, along with cleaning equipment. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, with only a few light marks on wood and metal, as would be associated with a few days of normal field use. Most notably, there is a small rub/ scratch on left side of bbl near breech end, and some dents and knocks, one or two fairly deep at toe area of butt. There is just a hint of silvering on action beads. Bores are excellent. Mechanically crisp. Case leather is excellent, with one or two light marks. Interior cloth has some very slight rubs and compressions. Accessories are excellent. A great handling small bore Holland. 50690-1 MGM9 (30,000-50,000) – Lot 3283
