TWO ARTICLES OF CHILDREN’S FURNITURE.

20th century, France and Massachusetts. A child’s beech fauteuil with shaped back centering a rectangular over upholstered panel. Joined to molded arms with outswept hand grips and padded armrests centering the trapezoidal seat raised on frontal molded cabriole legs and back swept in-curved rear legs. The chair covered in a cotton damask pink checked and floral fabric. The second item, a child’s rocking dory, with manufacturer’s label of the original Gloucester Rockers, this example marks #348. Fabricated from various hardwoods, the dory in blue and red paint, mounted on wave-form rockers. SIZE: 30″ h of back; 11″ h of seat; 17-1/2″ w; 36″ l of rocking boat; 18″ w.
