FINE EARLY 4-SCREW COLT MODEL 1860 PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVER WITH ORIGINAL HOLSTER THAT BELONGED TO JOSHUA CHAMBERLAIN’S AIDE, 20TH MAINE INFANTRY, FROM DIRECT FAMILY DESCENT.

SN 20220. Cal. 44. Consignor on this lot has had this gun in its orig military flap holster along with group of Confederate currency that descended with this fine Army. This early 4-screw is in the standard configuration made in 1861. There is an accompanying affidavit from consignor stating provenance. PROVENANCE: From direct family descent of Maine family. CONDITION: Very good overall, all matching and orig. Markings crisp and easily discerned, though inspector’s cartouche on grip is well worn; moderate edge wear, left inside toe is chipped. Moderate holster wear at muzzle and brass front blade sight has been trimmed. Cylinder scene is well defined, mechanically functional, crisp bore. Accompanying holster is in matching very good to fine condition retaining most of its orig black finish. Tight stitching and complete tab. 51553-1 JS (4,000-6,000) – Lot 3233
