ANHALT 93RD INFANTRY REGIMENT RESERVE OFFICER MODEL 1897.

Fine black leather helmet with gilt brass trim. Helmet body has excellent form with firm stitching, slight scuffs to exterior finish with no loss of material. Fine officer’s sweat leather and silk head liner. Visors are colored. No extra holes in helmet body. Line eagle without banner with silver star and heraldic arms of Anhalt on the eagle’s breast. Eagle has no fire gilding. Underneath star is the Reserve Cross with the banner “Mit Gorr fur Furst und Vaterland”. Eagle retains 90% of fire gilt. Tall removable officer style spike. Arms of Anhalt star has nice patina. Flat chinscales with two cockades. Solid green Anhalt officer’s cockade. PROVENANCE: Certificate of Authenticity from Helmut Weitze; The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Excellent condition helmet inside and out. Even patina over metal trim, body shows slight scratches but overall excellent form, fine and rare helmet. 51586-23 RT (3,250-4,500) – Lot 3184
