EMPIRE STYLE THREE PIECE SALON SUITE WITH ORMOLU TRIM.

Late 19th/early 20th century, possibly France. The 3-piece suite comprising a settee and pair of armchairs, each with rolled crest-rail with classical foliate ormolu mounts above a rectangular upholstered panel. Continuing to downswept arms with rolled grips mounted with foliate rondels on in-curved supports centering a trapezoidal over upholstered seat with curved front seat rail raised on square tapered legs with ormolu mounts and cast claw feet. The whole covered in original rose pink silk fabric in the classical taste. SIZE: 42-1/2″ h of back; 18″ h of seat; 27-1/2″ w of chair; 56″ w of settee. PROVENANCE: From a private Massachusetts collection. CONDITION: Frames retain original surface with good color. Ormolu casting in tact, structurally sound. Upholstery un-serviceable.
