LARGE FOOTMEN DOORSTOP DESIGNED BY ANNE FISH.

Circa 1920, Pennsylvania. Cast by the Hubley Foundry of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Marked ‘248’ and ‘FISH’ on front of base with copyright symbol. The hollow half round casting on integral plinth depicting two conjoined footmen in vibrantly painted uniform. This is the larger of the two footmen doorstops designed by Anne Fish, and English illustrator who created designs for seven Hubley doorstops. Reference: The Doorstop Book, Smith, pg 213. SIZE: 12″ h. CONDITION: Retains original vibrant paint, with minor abrasion and chips, in very fine untouched condition. 50576-40 (1,500-2,000) – Lot 3173
