The rectangular shaped frame in a layered diamond pattern has a number of glass front compartments filled with gilt seashells. 1 diamond shape in each corner and each side having 4 horizontal shell shadow boxes. 19th century. Possibly made during a sailor’s voyage. SIZE: 45″ h x 36″ w. Inside frame 27-3/4″ h x 20″ w. CONDITION: The wood work with a wonderful dark honey brown patina. The glass all intact. The shell area with some shell deterioration and movement of some shells. 49116-6 (1,800-2,200) – Lot 3122
