LOUIS XV STYLE MAHOGANY ETAGERE WITH GILT-METAL MOUNTS. Second half 19th century, Continental. In two parts, the upper section fitted with two shaped shelves on S-scroll supports beneath the mirrored crest applied with scrolling foliate gilt metal mounts, the whole with book end matched veneers and crossbanding, the shelves separated by rectangular mirror plates, fitted to the lower section of three crossbanded shelves on scrolling supports, the edges with gilt mounts cast with leaf tips, raised on tapering cylindrical legs. the back panels fitted with two rectangular mirror plates. SIZE: 81″ h x 31-1/2″ w x 14″ d. CONDITION: Very good overall with nicely polished surfaces. Two scrolled supports above the second shelf are missing lower scrolling. Top shelf of base with old shrinkage crack. 9-90194 (1,500-2,500)
