SET OF EIGHT BENCHMADE CARVED MAHOGANY CHIPPENDALE STYLE DINING CHAIRS.

Circa 1934, East Orange, N.J. The set comprised of 6 side chairs and 2 armchairs covered with contemporary damask fabric. Each serpentine foliate carved crest rail continued to reeded styles centering a pierced scrolling splat carved with leaf tips and quatrefoil devices joined to a trapezoidal over upholstered seat raised on square reeded frontal legs and backswept rear legs. Note: The family recalls that the name of the cabinet maker was Ferrarra and that they were commissioned for the consignor’s mother-in-law in Monclair, N.J. SIZE: 37-1/2″ h of back. 18″ h of seat. 24-1/2″ Overall w armchair. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Retaining original surface.
