SET OF EIGHT QUEEN ANNE STYLE DINING CHAIRS.

Second quarter 20th century. Comprised of two armchairs and six side chairs. These fine walnut and mahogany benchmade examples with shell carved crest rail in deep relief centering a shaped and chamfered vasiform splat above the balloon seat raised on frontal shell carved cabriole legs raised on ball and claw feet; the rear legs backswept, all joined by block- and ring-turned recessed box stretcher. SIZE: Back: 44-1/2″ h. Seat: 18″ h. Overall armchair width: 28″ h. PROVENANCE: Leonard’s New England, Seekonk, MA. From a fine private Long Island, NY collection. CONDITION: Chairs retain original surfaces, the slip seats with original dusty blue velvet upholstery. One chair with chip in back foot. One chair with 2″ rectangular plug in proper right stile.
