BRIGHT ORANGE MOHAIR STEIFF RABBIT RATTLE WITH BUTTON.

Rabbit is begging, head jointed and made from white and gloriously vibrant orange mohair. This color is not specifically mentioned in the standard Steiff Sortiment reference books for this item. The ears are lined in wire and are posable. Rabbit’s face is detailed with large black and brown glass pupil eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth and clear monofilament whiskers. His ribbon is not original. A delightful and classic Steiff pattern that was produced in six jewel tones in sizes ranging from 11 to 70cm, from 1926 through 1941. Rabbit retains his long trailing “F” button and traces of his ear tag as his Steiff IDs. SIZE: 7″ t (17cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection.
