FOUR FINE PIECES OF RARE QUIMPER POTTERY.

1 & 2) Pair of 13″ long bellows formed wall pockets. One showing a Bretonne carrying grapes; the other a Bretonne carrying a baby. First “HB” mark on rear (late 19th century). Rare to find a pair in this condition. 3) Fine two handled banett. Tray decorated with a Breton and Bretonne within a nicely drawn leaf and flower border with outer cobalt blue and rust squiggle. Marked on front “HR Quimper” (circa 1910). Reference: pg 123 of O’Neill’s book on Quimper pottery showing the demi- fantastik border. 4) 9″ diameter by 4-1/2″ high compote decorated with a Bretonne in profile, flanked by red, green and blue florals. “AP” mark on base (late 19th century). Reference: pg 23 of O’Neill’s book on Quimper pottery for an example of the Couronnes border SIZE: Sizes as noted above. PROVENANCE: From a private New Jersey collection; 1 & 2) Acquired from Sandra Bondhus; 4) Acquired from a Vermont collector. CONDITION: 1 & 2) Very good to excellent, with vivid coloring.
