IMPORTANT SET OF FOUR PATRIOTIC LEADED GLASS WINDOWS. Early 20th century, American. Each panel depicting an American eagle: 1) An eagle clutching an American flag in its talons flying above mountains above a rising sun emblazoned with the word “LIBERTY”; 2) Depicting a displayed eagle on rock work beside an open book with the word “TRUTH”; 3) Depicting an eagle perched above a nest feeding three eaglets beneath a cloudless sky and the word “EQUALITY”; 4) Depicting an eagle with blindfold, balance scales in its beak, perched on the Great Seal on which is the word “JUSTICE”. Each within a border of caramel slag glass mounted in a wood frame with simulated graining. Each frame with hinge marks at the top, possibly denoting former use as transom windows above doorways. SIZE: Overall: 1) 37″ x 49″; 2) 37″ x 48-1/2″; 3) 35-1/2″ x 42″; 4) 37″ x 48-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good overall with a minimal number of glass panels having tight old hairline stress cracks. 9-90177 (3,000-5,000)
