*EXTREMELY FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 1917 ENFIELD BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE.

SN 490919. Cal. 30-06. Beautiful all correct and matching standard rifle with 26″ rnd bbl with Winchester marking and flaming bomb marks by the front sight and the date “11-18”. Receiver marked with a large Ordnance Corps flaming bomb. Stock is marked forward of mag well with proof over “500”, and to rear of trigger guard with proof over “510”. Proofmark “W” prominently visible in wood of forend above bayonet lug. The rifle also includes an excellent condition original 1918 dated leather sling. Receiver marked “U.S. MODEL OF 1917 / WINCHESTER /(sn)”. This model was actually carried by more American troops in WW1 than the 1903 Springfield. CONDITION: Extremely fine to near excellent overall appearance and finish with over 97% orig lustrous blued finish remaining on metal parts with loss of finish to the high edges, and some blemishes to the barrel band. Wood finish also original with some light handling marks and two noticeable dings and a small bruise to the underside of the stock 4″ ahead of the forward sling swivel. Bore is excellent, shiny and bright.
