*VERY RARE WALTHER MOD. HP DURAL FRAME LIGHTWEIGHT P38 PISTOL WITH HOLSTER.

SN 6870. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. One of 18 known examples. This particular gun is the earliest by SN recorded. By SN, this gun is discussed on pgs. 86-87 & 92, and photographed on pgs. 127-128 of The P.38 Pistol Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Marked WALTHER in banner, “Waffenfabrik, Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther’s Patent Cal. 9m/m”, “Mod.HP”. Commercial eagle N marked on right side of slide, frame, and bbl. SN on slide is stamped on the inside which is proper. Correct steel block inside frame. Dark brown Bakelite grips. Unmarked magazine. Accompanied by brown leather flap holster marked on back “57954/o”, large eagle swastika, “38”. Spare unmarked magazine with bright follower in holster pouch. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Bbl and slide retain a good amount of the orig finish with wear marks on high points. Frame has some dings. Finish thinning on front strap, and worn in a few other spots. No cracks in frame. All markings clear. Fine grips with light handling marks. Excellent working order.
