SN SM2582. Cal. 22LR. 5″ round bbl. All matching (SN under firing pin stop plate, “2582”). Blue finish, full checkered walnut stocks. Manufactured in 1941. Fixed front and adjustable rear sights. Checkered trigger, magazine release, thumb safety, slide release, hammer spur, and arched main spring housing. The left side of the slide is marked with the Hartford address and the patent information in 2-lines followed by the “RAMPANT COLT”. The right side is marked “COLT’; “SERVICE” over “MODEL” ;’ACE” in a diamond, “.22” “LONG” over “RIFLE”. The SN (SM 2582) is on the right side of the frame, the right front trigger guard bow is marked “60”. The left trigger guard bow is marked “P” over the Colt “VP”. Checkered stocks and like new two-tone blued magazine marked “COLT” over “” over “.22 L.R.” on the floor plate. CONDITION: Excellent with approximately 98% of the orig blue finish remaining, thinning at the muzzle and high edges. Marks from the frame during cycling on the slide and a tiny spot on the right side. The full checkered grips are excellent, light pressure dents and strong checkering. Mechanically excellent. Only a few dings and scratches especially on the front grip strap. All markings are crisp and strong. Rear sight is adjustable and excellent with only a little bit of buggering on the screws. Superb orig two-tone magazine. Front sight has worn blue. Bore dirty but looks great. These blued military inspected service Model Aces are getting almost impossible to find and this one is in superb orig condition.
