FOUR BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES.

China, Qing Dynasty. The lot comprised of four porcelain bottles each hand painted in underglaze blue of various design. Two bottles of ovoid form, one in cylindrical form, and the last of a flattened rectangular form. Each bottle having a mark on the underside. SIZE: Ranging 2″ to 2-3/4″ without stoppers. PROVENANCE: Estate of a Midwestern Public University Chancellor who died in the late 1930’s. This Chancellor was invited to speak in China in 1930s, and visited Japan and India where he acquired this item. CONDITION: The rectangular bottle with stopper glued down. The small ovoid bottle being broken and re-glued. 49918-5 (800-1,200) – Lot 3061
