**HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION COLT U.S. NAVY 1921 / 28 OVERSTAMP THOMPSON MACHINE GUN – ONE OF TWO CONSECUTIVELY NUMBERED (CURIO & RELIC).

SN 7062. Cal. 45 ACP. 12-1/2″ bbl. This Colt Thompson has been fitted with 1928 parts as part of its conversion to U.S. Navy specifications. Top inside of receiver shows some polishing marks which probably occurred incidental to this refit. This is one of a consecutively numbered pair of Colt Thompsons being offered in this auction. This specimen is also fitted with an unmarked cutts compensator with 4 slots, and includes one 30 rnd Auto Ordinance Bridgeport magazine. Matching numbered upper and lower. Remington anchor proof mark at front of buttstock. Bolt moves smoothly and under proper tension when operated by hand. This weapon appears fully functional. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This item is fully transferable on an ATF Form 3 or Form 4 as Curio & Relic eligible. CONDITION: Extremely fine to near excellent orig blued finish with only some slight high edge wear and a few scattered scratches. This is about as nice a Colt Navy Thompson as this cataloger has ever seen. Bore is shiny & bright with some slight frosting in the grooves. Magazine retains about 95% of its orig lustrous blue finish. Wood does have a couple of light scratches with a pencil tip size ding in the left foregrip and a small 3/8″ chip and a 2″ long scratch on the right side of the handgrip. None of this detracts from the extreme handsomeness and quality of the fit and finish of this jewel from the early half of the 20th century. If you were waiting for an outstanding Colt Navy Thompson, this is the one you were waiting for. 50450-3 JWK36 (25,000-45,000) C&R – Lot 3013
