STUNNING & EXTREMELY DESIRABLE STEIFF YELLOW TEDDY BEAR FROM 1925 WITH BUTTON.

This amazing and truly beautiful teddy bear design was produced because Richard Steiff, in a letter from America, insisted that Steiff bears, which had not changed significantly in design since their introduction at the turn of the last century, become more soft, colorful and warm, reflecting the culture of the time. This charming bear is made from very long, soft and curly slightly faded yellow mohair and is jointed 5-ways. Teddy has tan felt paw pads with four hand-embroidered claws on each. The distinctly youthful and feminine face is detailed with oversized brown and black glass pupil eyes, hand-embroidered nose and mouth, and a slightly shorter mohair muzzle. She retains her long trailing “F” Steiff button. This bear was also produced in pink mohair; overall from 1925-1930, 5271 yellow and 4794 pink examples were produced. SIZE: Overall 20″ t (50cm). Sitting 12-1/2″ t (30cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Tiny hole in right paw pad, very minor thinning. Otherwise very good to excellent. 1-13766 (12,000-18,000) – Lot 3009
