LOT OF 27 CARTE DE VISIT AND TINTYPES. This lot consists of 14 real carte de visits of Civil War era military personnel, 5 reproductions consisting of Jeff Davis, Lee, McClellan, Lincoln and an officer with his lady, 4 group shots consisting of Naval officers, Statesmen and Generals of the American Civil War, Booth and his associates and “Our Present Peace Commissioners”. A photo of a military encampment and the photo of a statue titled “Biter Bit” which is the image of a Civil War soldier and a bayoneted dog raised over his head. Along with the tintype of a soldier and another of a lady. One of the military photos is of three Union soldiers, two standing and one seated, written in ink on the back “Sergt. Briggs/ Corpl. Knowles/ Privt. Moses”. The others are untitled. CONDITION: Generally fine, yellowed, images are fine. The camp scene is fading. 4-45903 (300-500)
