LARGE FRAME SMITH & WESSON VOLCANIC PISTOL SERIAL NUMBER 1. Serial number matching on frame under grips, on both grips, on rear sight, links and bottom of bolt. These numbers are slightly larger then those found on other Smith & Wesson Volcanics and might be redone. Cal. .41 Volcanic, 8″ part oct. bbl. Marked “SMITH&WESSON / NORWICH.CT. / PATENT / CAST-STEEL” on top of the bbl. CONDITION: The screws and marking show slight signs that the gun was possibly refinished although the engraving is sharp. Grips are sharp but have no finish. Action is slightly sticky due to the hammer notches. A comparison with a known completely original specimen is recommended. 4-46938 FS121 (8,000-12,000)
