These wonderful animals were purchased by stores like F.A.O. Schwarz for display purposes and were bolted to the floor by means of an L-shaped bracket protruding from their feet. This particular model, would have had a retail price of several thousands of dollars. In any toy store, this was literally the first thing a customer would see due to its size, appeal, and coloring.
