WINCHESTER 1ST MODEL HOTCHKISS SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. Standard sporting rifle with 26″ oct. bbl, 800yd 1873 marked ladder sight, 1-pc walnut stock with black tipped schnable forearm with smooth steel shotgun buttplate. SN 3688. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and receiver retain 92-94% strong original blue with some thin spots on the bbl. Trigger guard retains about 50% thin blue and the buttplate about 70% blue. Stock is sound having been cleaned but not sanded with only traces of original finish remaining. Bright shiny bore. 4-46783 JR131 (2,500-4,000)
