*VERY FINE 20 GAUGE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 “GRAND AMERICAN” TWO BARREL SET WITH ORIGINAL CASE.

SN W32999. (1973) Cal. 20 ga. 3″ Chambers. Both bbl sets are 26″ and fitted with raised, matted, ventilated ribs. Rear portion has milled out area engraved with owners name. There are 3″ triangles of varying sized scroll at breech ends. Engine turned bbl flats are stamped with matching numbers. Each set has its own forend, and bbls are stamped “1” and “2” on loops and front portions of forend irons. Bbl set “1” is choked skeet and skeet, and “2”, mod and full. Blued flat side action features automatic safety and gold-plated sgl selective trigger. Action is engraved in typical “21-6” style with flush gold inlays, typical of “Grand American” Model 21’s. Fences are carved with oak leaves. Remainder of action is near fully engraved with scroll surrounding vignettes of gold inlaid dogs and birds; a pointing setter on left side, and a pointing pointer on right. Bottom of action depicts a pair of gold inlaid pheasant. Trigger guard bow has a gold portrait of a dog. Fine, feather crotch figured American walnut straight grip buttstock measures 13″ over black leather covered pad. Stock and both matching beavertail forends are carved in “21-B” style. BBL set “1”: Bore diameter: left -.612, right -.612. Bore restrictions: left -.007 (skeet), right -.005 (skeet). Drop at heel: 2-3/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/16″. Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz. LOP: 13″. BBL set “2”: Bore diameter: left -.616, right -.613. Bore restrictions: left -.030 (full), right -.012 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-3/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/4″. Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz. LOP: 13″. Brown leather VC case with stitched leather corners has leather trimmed canvas outer cover. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth, and has space for gun and both sets of bbls. PROVENANCE: Winchester letter confirming all specifications of this “Grand American” including 2nd set of bbls, gold name in panel, and leather covered pad. CONDITION: Excellent, close to new, with evidence of light field use, with a few light dings and scratches in metal, mostly on bbl set “2”. Action shows a hint of silvering on sharp edges. There are a number of marks on stock, mostly some chips through finish and some scratches on lower portion of butt. Bores are excellent. Mechanically crisp. Case leather is excellent, as protected by its outer cover, which has some rubs. Interior cloth is excellent. A fine, original Grand American. 49445-9 MGM402 (25,000-35,000) – Lot 2414
