REGENCY MAHOGANY SIDE CABINET.

First half 19th century, England. Rectangular top with 3/4 pierced brass gallery above the frieze decorated with 3 molded brass rondels. The oval central device flanked by floral examples, above a pair of cabinet doors fitted with an arrangement of book spines simulating the appearance of a library book case. The doors open to an interior fitted with a single fixed shelf flanked by pilasters of neo-classical design. The whole on a simple plinth. SIZE: 38″ h overall x 39-1/2″ w x 14-1/2″ d. CONDITION: The gallery slightly misshapen. The case sides with vertical shrinkage cracks now stabilized. Otherwise with well polished surfaces overall.
