FIRE MARK PLAQUE.

Mid-late 19th century, Philadelphia PA. Fire Hydrant with Hose Fire Mark. Cast iron. Original paint with crusty, worn surface. Depicting, a serpent like fire hose attached to fire hydrant (plug), the initials “F A” flanking hydrant, in hollow relief casting. The Fire Association of Philadelphia was formed in 1817, and issued this fire mark to insured clients. SIZE: 11-1/2″ x 7″. CONDITION: Very good, untouched condition. 9-96360 (500-800) – Lot 2338
