SN 87294. Cal. 12 ga. 29-7/8″ steel bbls with 2-3/4″ chambers. Chokes Full/Full. Full length matted top rib with steel front bead. Tops of bbls marked “Von Lengerke & Detmold / U.S. Agents New York”. Case hardened dbl triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Gorgeous French Walnut buttstock checkered in two-point pattern with gold initial oval at toe marked “ALV” and 14-7/16 LOP over modern Silver’s type recoil pad. Splinter forearm with Curtis push button release checkered in three-point pattern. Frame with side clips is near full coverage scroll and floral pattern engraved and marked “A. Francotte Maker” and “Liege Belgium” on both sides of locks. Blued top lever is scroll engraved and gold “S” in front of safety. Crossbolt locking. Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz. PROVENANCE: The William Hammond Collection. CONDITION: Excellent as partially refurbished (wood only). Bbls retain nearly all their orig blued finish with a few light handling marks and minor toning. Buttstock and forearm are outstanding as professionally restored and retain virtually all of their high quality finish. There is a small “B” script stamping at the end of the checkering point behind trigger guard tang which may be the restorer’s stamp. Checkering is crisp and there are just a couple of very light handling marks. Receiver retains virtually all of its dark, bold, orig case color. Mechanics are excellent. Brilliant shiny bores.
