CIVIL WAR RECRUITING BROADSIDE FOR CONNECTICUT TROOPS.

ATTENTION! MEN OF CONNECTICUT! starts this broadside which lists various monetary incentives. One line states “All the bounties amount to the following large sum, to veterans $792.00″ you have to read the fine print to know that you need to serve an additional 3 years to collect all the $792.00. The poster is signed in print by Capt. Thomas Boudren as recruiting officer in South Norwalk. Capt. Boudren was a captain in the 6th Conn from 1861 to early 1864. SIZE: 24″ x 18-3/4”. PROVENANCE: Norm Flayderman Estate Collection. CONDITION: Poster was not removed from frame but appears glued on edges to mounting board with foxing, acid burn, and water staining as can be seen in photos. There are several cracks at folds and about a 1″ square piece of added paper with a new inked letter “I” for a missing letter in the bottom left quadrant edge as can be seen in photos. 9-93044 (600-800) – Lot 2270
