SCHOOL OF SAMUEL MCINTIRE CARVED CORNERSTONE RELIC PURPORTEDLY PRESENTED TO GEORGE WASHINGTON.

18th century U.S. Well carved in high relief in oak, featuring Masons tools. Purportedly a cornerstone or embellishment from a 18th century Masonic building, given to George Washington. On reverse, burnt in with chisel point “GW 18 SEP 1793” and also affixed to the reverse a clipped “G.Washington” signature. SIZE: 9″ x 9″ x 2-1/2″. CONDITION: Heavy worm damage, but overall very good. Condition commensurate with age and function. 7-70771 (3,000-5,000) – Lot 2268
